In September 1993, Karin Ratke, Kerstin Schmidt and Lisa Kattelans acquired the former children's holiday camp owned by a metal processing company from Leipzig. At the same time, the Verein zur Förderung von Frauen- und Kinderreisen (formerly Campinski e.V.) was founded and has since rented the entire site. In 1995 the community of female owners was expanded. Lisa Kattelans, Gabi Berger and Suli Puschban, who took over and continued the project, have been active on the site ever since. Since then, the Steinhaus (ablution block and communal areas), chalets, sauna and main house have been gradually rebuilt and renovated. Land for permanent camping was laid out, water and power lines laid, a new well drilled, the former swimming pool transformed into a wildlife pond, a small sewage treatment plant was purchased and the entire property improved and rebuilt. This renovation process is ongoing and volunteers are always welcome to increase their skillsets and learn to bricklay, sand, plaster, work with wood, garden etc.
A place for women and children was created that lies off the beaten track and is distinguished both by its "otherness" and its integration into the Brandenburg region.
